The Lucy Daniels Foundation would like to invite creative people from all walks of creativity, (including parenting, business and the arts) to take part in an 18-week seminar “Our Problems as the Roots of Our Power.”

Lucy Daniels, PhD, developed this seminar out of her own experiences in overcoming obstacles to creative freedom. She guides the class with the focus throughout on the creative process and its interaction with our inner selves. Selection of class participants deliberately mixes all types of creators. Dr. Daniels will need a minimum of 12 participants to hold the seminar.

Participants are urged to explore their own feelings and direct their emotional energy to creative endeavor, while forming bonds with the other members. Weekly readings enhance discussions that follow a short lecture by Dr. Daniels.

Dr.Daniels will speak about the psychoanalytic readings and work with participants to explore and overcome obstacles in their creative process. Discussions and activities are lively and enlightening. And each participant is invitedto present their work and discuss problems in their processes.

The seminar is held once a week on Tuesday evenings from 7 to 9 PM. There are three, 6-week intervals during Fall, Winter and Spring with breaks in between to contemplate what you have learned.

1. Serious commitment to a creative endeavor-whatever that may be-art, parenting, writing, science, music, etc.
2. Willingness to focus on psychodynamic issues through readings, discussions, and self-presentations.
3. Commitment to consistent attendance at each of the 18 weekly sessions.

A 2018 graduate writes:

“The weekly seminars, reading and guided self-work gave me tools and insights to better understand some personal barriers which I didn’t realize were keeping me from doing my most honest creative work. I have been able to take a fresh approach to my music and am now writing and performing with more joy. I also have a greater sense of inner confidence from sharing this growth experience with a group of inclusive and brave artists.”
